This handsome Red has quite the story and is FINALLY ready for his forever family!

Stanley is about one and a half years old and unfortunately came into ACDRA under some pretty traumatic circumstances. He was found as a stray with a catastrophic wound… It appeared he attempted to jump over a fence and got his hind end hung up in it leaving a horrific large wound that has taken months to properly heal after surgery.

But now Stanley is ready to take on the world! Stanley is well mannered, crate and house trained. He loves car rides, walks great on a leash, and sunning himself in the back yard. He loves all people, great with other dogs and cats! He hasn’t met “young” children so unsure of how he will do but he is pretty even tempered so shouldn’t be an issue with correct supervision. He loves hiking and outings with his foster mom!

Given his previous traumatic experience, Stanley does exhibit some separation sensitivity. His ideal family would be one where a consistent presence is maintained throughout the day, rather than a traditional 9-to-5 work schedule. His current foster parent, being retired, is home for the majority of the day, with occasional absences of 2-4 hours. Furthermore, Stanley would greatly benefit from the companionship of a kind and confident canine friend within the home, as he often seeks reassurance and security from another dog.

Stanley is UTD, neutered, on all preventatives and ready for a family to call his own!

If you have questions about Stanley please email kebtyler@yahoo.com

If you’d like to apply to adopt Stanley please submit an application: Adoption Application | acdra
