Stanley's Story

Meet Stanley – your new best friend with a heart of gold!

Stanley is a 1.5-year-old Lab/Heeler/Hound mix who radiates sunshine wherever he goes. He’s the definition of happy-go-lucky—always wagging, always smiling, and always ready to make a new friend (human or doggo). Kids? He adores them. Dogs? Obsessed. Cats? Not at first (he thinks they want to play) but with the right introductions and training they can learn to co-exist.

Basically, Stanley is everyone’s favorite playmate.

This goofy boy was picked up as a stray at a rural shelter, and it’s clear he spent most of his young life as an outdoor adventurer. Now he’s figuring out the whole “indoor dog” thing—like couches, cozy naps, and not peeing inside (he’s mostly got that part down though!)

Stanley’s hobbies include:
** Face-planting into tall grass like a champion.
** Jumping in puddles with zero hesitation.
** Play-bowing to every dog he meets.
** Snuggling like a pro when playtime’s over.

He’s medium-sized, crate trained, and has all the makings of the perfect family dog—just with a touch of “work in progress” charm. With a little patience, he’s going to blossom into the most loyal, silly, wonderful companion you could dream up.

Stanley is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventions, and flea/parasite free.

Ready to welcome this goofball into your family? Two Black Dogs Foundation's Adoption Policy
All adopters MUST fill out an application. We do not respond to inquiries submitted through PetFinder. If you have questions about a specific animal feel free to email us, or send us a message on Facebook. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. If you are approved to adopt a member of our team will contact you. Meet and greets are set up by appointment only after you’ve been approved. In most cases you are allowed to take your new pet home after your meet and greet, unless the animal is too young to be spayed/neutered, in which case you will sign up to foster-to-adopt. We do not hold animals so please do not apply or set up a meet and greet unless you are ready to leave with your new pet. Any vetting done at your own vet clinic will be at your own expense. Spay/neuter included in adoption fee must be done by one of our local partner vet clinics, and adopter is responsible for arranging transportation. All animals adopted through TBDF are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and parasite free and up to date on their preventions. All cats and kittens are FiV/FeLV tested, all dogs over 6 months of age are heartworm tested and treated if positive.
