STACIE's Story

Stacie is a young Pit Bull who has been working hard in the shelter’s Shy Dog Program and is making steady progress. She may still be a little shy in new situations and with new people, but she is gaining confidence every day and trying her best to navigate the world with more ease. Leash walking is still a work in progress—Stacie’s current style can best be described as a mix of “sniper crawl meets zig-zag adventure.” She is trying hard, and staff feel she will likely improve with continued training and a quieter, more consistent environment. Stacie is playful and enjoys toys and balls, especially anything she can chase and engage with. She also loves foraging for treats, is very food motivated, and takes treats gently, which makes training a great opportunity for her to keep learning. With patience, structure, and continued confidence building, Stacie has all the ingredients to grow into a wonderful companion.
