Squeaks's Story

When my previous owner lost his job, he knew full well he would no longer be able to afford two dogs. That is when a kind neighbor stepped into the picture and offered to take me and my brother, Chip, into his home. The plan was to "foster" us until our original owner could get back on his feet. After all, the best laid plans are indeed paved with good intentions. Unfortunately, those plans changed when our foster dad also fell victim to the economy and suddenly lost his job only two months later! So here we are, hanging out at the shelter in search for a new home.

As for me, I'm one timid canine right now! I've never been in shelter before and don't know what to make of it. When I first arrived, shelter staff had to hold me like a baby because I was shaking with fear. All the strange faces, smells, and noises scared me half to death and I needed reassurance like none other. Although I'm coming around a bit, I still have a long road ahead of me and need someone who will be patient as I transition from one experience to another.

Described by my foster daddy as having no bad habits, I enjoy the company of other dogs but have never been around children. Truth be known, I'd be most interested in meeting a few as I hear they make great pals and allow dogs to sleep in bed with them. An absolute cutie since birth, I'm guaranteed to mature into a wonderful family pet.
