PENDING ADOPTION MEET!!!<br/>Sputnik came into rescue as an abandoned stray from a Central valley shelter along with his tri-coloured brother Dancer. Sputnik is 4 years old and weighs 16 pounds.<br/>Sputnik is house and crate trained and knows how to use a dog door. He has been exposed to both rural and urban environments and is a great hiking companion. He walks well on leash and has good off-leash recall with his person. He rides well in the car.<br/>Sputnik is still a bit shy with new people, but he has made enormous progress in foster care and is ready to handle the world with a patient dog-smart adopter. His shyness can still cause him to bark at strangers on a walk if they are in an odd location or standing still at the side of the trail. He is also nervous of children and will bark at them. An amiable dog companion in his new home would be a big plus.<br/>We are looking for an active home for this terrific little guy - hikers especially welcome. <br/>Sputnik is in foster care in the Portland area. His adoption fee is $250.
