Spud 's Story

Do you appreciate a little bit of quirkiness? Then you’ll absolutely adore Spud! Spud is a 5 year old cattle dog/great pyr mix that recently found himself back in the rescue after his owner passed away. He currently weighs 60-70 lbs but could use to lose a few.

He spent the past 3 years in a loving home, but prior to that he was rescued from a backyard breeder where he had likely been hit by a car. This accident made it so he walks like he has boots on throwing his front paws out - it is so adorable and quirky - but it doesn’t slow him down! He has a little bit of arthritis as a result, but with some weight loss he will likely feel a lot better!

Spud is dog friendly and often visited dog parks in his previous home and he has gotten so excited meeting the dogs in his foster home. He is so cute with the cats in his foster home and wants to play with them but is also afraid of them.

Spud is sweet and playful with people and enjoys affection and pets, but it took several days for him to warm up to his foster family and he should be given that same time in his forever home. He does need an adult only (teens ok) home because he requires patience.

He is fully housebroken and is well mannered - he is not destructive and is happy to be a couch potato when inside. He loves to wander around the yard and take in all of the smells.

If you’re looking for a marathon training partner, Spud just isn’t that guy - but if you’re looking for a couch companion, quirky best friend, and a playful pal, then Spud is your perfect match!

He is fostered in Hunterdon County NJ

http://www.coldnosewarmheart.org/dog-application.html
@cnwhnj @coldnosewarmheartnj
