When he came to us he was nervous, but sweetness was never optional for him.<br/><br/>Now that he's out of his shell, Spruce is snuggly, playful, and very into being close to his people. He still likes his comfort zone, but is gaining confidence every day; and just needs a home that will gently nudge him into new experiences. Other dogs would be a big help in showing him the ropes, and he's also good with cats.<br/><br/>At a perfect 40 pounds, Spruce is one of those dogs people overlook at first, and then never stop loving.
