Meet Sponsor Dot from South LA
PLEASE SPONSOR DOT AND HELP US PAY HIS VET BILLS. We rescued this senior dalmatian male the shelter named Dot from the South LA City shelter. He was filthy, covered in poop and urine. No doubt he'd had trouble getting up in the cold cement kennel runs they have at that shelter. We had him seen by our vet and tested. He has borderline cushings and has sight and mobility issues. He takes expensive daily medication for his cushings and requires frequent vet care and monitoring. Dot is getting more comfortable where he lives, and does not mind being around the other dogs, but he's been abused, flinches when anyone is near, sometimes with such vigor he falls over. Poor sweet boy. So you have to move very slowly around him. Dot likes getting head pats and scratches once he realizes you aren't going to hit him and doesn't mind when we help him get back to his bedding, so long as we move slowly. The vet thinks is he 13 or 14 and he looks like he's had a hard life, callouses on his elbow and lots of missing fur. He is living comfortably now, soft bedding, a yard he can walk around in, some k9 friends and food he likes. He especially likes treats, as all spotted pups do!
Dot is not really adoptable with all of his health and incontinence issues but we could use help in paying for his cushings medication and vet care. Donations to help spot or to help with any of our spotted (and unspotted) pups can be made directly to Dalmatian Rescue of Southern California, Inc., via paypal from our website, www.dalrescuesocal.com, or by check mailed to Dalmatian Rescue of Southern California, Inc., 20301 Riverside Dr., Newport Beach, CA 92660.
