Spike's Story

Why choose me?
Spike spent the icy weekend in a temporary foster home! Here is what the foster had to say about him: He's so sweet and always wants to cuddle. We took him to lunch and once he found out he couldn't eat human food he just laid on my lap the whole time. He was so good meeting new people and everyone that met him loved him. Overall sweetest and cuddliest dog ever.

Spike is a handsome, good-natured fellow and was thrilled to have some time outside. I threw a toy for him, and he took off so fast that I just KNEW he'd play fetch, but he returned with a smile and no toy. I tried a ball and some other toys, and he charged after them lickety-split but returned without the toys. That was fine because he had fun, I enjoyed watching him, and we both enjoyed our time together. In addition to playing, Spike likes treats and was happy to show me how well he can sit for them. He's a sweet, happy buddy.

You can read more about this dog and check out additional photos here: https://www.accgov.com/9482/Dogs

The adoption fees, shelter schedule, a description of the rescue and adoption process, and a list of included vetting can be found at https://athenspets.net/adoption-rescue-process.

This dog is available for adoption through Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, located at 125 Buddy Christian Way, Athens, GA.
