UPDATED 9/12/2026! Hi! My name is Spike & I'm a super sweet male tricolor beagle! I'm quite the character! I'm outgoing & friendly! I also love to cuddle & snuggle! I'm middle-aged, which is a great age for a beagle! I came to Nittany Beagle Rescue from a shelter. I was in pretty bad shape when I went into the shelter - my snout was full of porcupine quills. That's how I got my name! LOL But I'm doing much better now. I am neutered & am ready to go to my forever home! Until recently, I've probably always lived outdoors in a pen. But I'm in a foster home now. And I LOVE being with people, & snuggling on the couch! I'm just so happy! I've had a couple of zoomies today (9/12/26)! But I'm also very calm! I share my food and toys with my foster home's dog. I walk well on a leash, too! I've discovered that I don't like dry kibble by itself anymore; I really want some wet food mixed in! :) I do well in a crate. Sometimes I'll cry a little in the crate, but then settle down quickly. Right now, I don't like being left alone - but everything is so new to me. My people will just need to work with me on that. I'll need more work on housetraining. But Nittany Beagle Rescue can give you suggestions & advice for that. Please think about making me part of your family! I'm so ready to be loved & have a home of my own! I weigh about 24 lbs.
