Spike's Story
Only applications for adoption in Durham Region will be considered. Any out of area applications will be disregarded. Please see our website for information on our adoption process. Please note that all questions on the application must be answered fully in order to be considered.

Meet Spike, an 8–10-week-old Northern mix (Shepherd/Husky) ready to find his forever home. This medium-energy pup may be small, but he has a big personality.

His foster dad describes him as feisty and full of spirit. Spike likes to pick playful fights with his brother and proudly keeps up with him in every adventure. He also loves to follow his brother everywhere, always wanting to be part of the action. Despite his bold streak, he has a very soft side and absolutely loves to snuggle once playtime is over.

Spike does well with other dogs, while his compatibility with cats and children is currently untested. At this young age, he is adaptable and eager to learn with proper guidance. He is still working on house training and will need patience and consistency as he learns the basics of puppy life.

While he can be full of energy at home, Spike surprised everyone by peacefully falling asleep during a recent car ride. Like any curious puppy, he enjoys chewing sticks and has been known to steal paper towels in an attempt to “help” clean up.

Spike would thrive in a loving home that appreciates his spirited nature and is committed to providing structure, training, and plenty of affection. With the right leadership, he will grow into a loyal and entertaining companion.

If you are ready to welcome this feisty, snuggly boy into your home, please send us a message or complete an application today.

Spike has been seen by our veterinarian, is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and follows TAGS’ harm-free flea and tick strategies. He will receive all final age-appropriate vaccines prior to final adoption. For the full list, please visit: animalguardian.org

All TAGS adoptions include nine weeks of Behaviour Training Classes to help set both puppy and family up for success.

If interested, please complete our application form found at https://animalguardian.org/how-to-help/adopting-a-rescue/adoption-applications/. Applications other than the TAGS form will not be considered.
