Meet Spider - Senior!
Meet Spider! Spider is an 8 year old neutered male Treeing Walker Coonhound. Spider has child restrictions and staff feels he would do best with a calmer canine sibling and a home without felines. At 8 years of age Spider is considered a senior and his adoption fee is waived. Adoption criteria must still be met. This seasoned Southern gentleman has journeyed from North Carolina to PA. His story: Spider was surrendered to a shelter in NC because his owner felt he was too old for hunting. He fell asleep in his kennel one evening minding his own business. His tail fell over into another kennel and his neighbor dog latched on. Several staff members managed to get the other dog to let go. The NC shelter was going to euthanize Spider due to lack of funds. A friend of the NC shelter stepped in and took Spider to a vet. The vet amputated the tail and also neutered Spider. Spider sat in the shelter in NC from July to September. Spider is now here in PA at our shelter! He is getting soo close to his happy ending! Let’s find this senior pup his retirement home for the years of service he gave to his former owner and the trauma he endured! Let’s show him PA loves their dogs! Visit lebanonhumane.org for details on our adoption process or stop in our shelter anytime during open business hours!
