Spider's Story
adorable & adoptable Spider!
About Spider
At first glance, Spider might remind you of a mini Rottweiler with his striking black coat, expressive brown eyebrows and miles of squishy cheeks, but don’t be fooled. He’s a full grown Cocker Spaniel weighing in at 25 pounds and isn’t any good at watching your home or treasures.
Spider is still a young pup at heart — just 2 years old with lots of energy and even more curiosity. He’s smart, eager to learn, and we strongly recommend his new family to enroll him in puppy or obedience classes.
He’s a ball obsessed, bird-chasing, kid-running kind of dog. He loves being part of the action and can get a little whiny when he feels left out (classic FOMO). When his people leave for school or work, you might hear a playful howl or two. He’s an adventurer at heart and would make an amazing companion for hiking, beach trips, or camping.
Note: Spider is still learning about boundaries — he’s a bit of a front-door and garage runner, so training and supervision are key (an AirTag is highly recommended). He’s also adorably obsessed with shiny, reflective lights — a little like a cat with a laser pointer!
The Sweet Stuff
At the end of the day, Spider is a total teddy bear. He’ll curl up beside you all night, happy just to be near his person. He’s great with kids and other dogs and would make a wonderful best friend for an active family — maybe even a little girl looking for her lifelong companion.
Before You Apply
Rescue dogs come with work. They aren’t “perfect” — they have histories, quirks, and big personalities. Foster families spend countless hours rehabilitating and socializing these dogs, but every adopter must be ready to continue that journey.
If you’re not willing to put in the time, love, and patience it takes to help a rescue dog thrive, this isn’t the match for you. Spider deserves someone committed to helping him grow — because he’ll give that love right back tenfold.
If you're interested in adoption--all the usual applies--we require an approved application (you can find that on our website) and we adopt to within the state of Texas--we do not ship or transport dogs.
