Spice - PENDING ADOPTION

My name is Spice, and I recently arrived at FDHS with my friend Sugar (she's here too!). I'm a gorgeous German Shepherd and I'm told I'm a very good girl... just with a little extra razzle dazzle.<br/><br/>I have some pretty big feelings, which is something a lot of Shepherds share. The shelter has been a tough place for me because it's loud and busy, and that can make an already anxious girl feel a little overwhelmed. But if you take me out of the kennels and spend some one-on-one time with me, you'll see the real me. Out in the yard, away from all the noise, I'm pretty close to perfect.<br/><br/>I'm smart, eager to please, and very motivated by treats. I may not have had a ton of formal training yet, but I'm ready to learn and I think I'll pick up new commands very quickly. I do need a little help with my leash manners, but I have great recall in the fenced yard and I try really hard to listen. I also keep my kennel nice and clean and I'm not very destructive with my toys.<br/><br/>I can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but with a soft voice and a few snacks, I warm up quickly. I've been a bit reactive with some of the other shelter dogs, but it's hard to be your best self in a place like this. We don't know yet how I am with kids or small animals.<br/><br/>The people here think the real me is just waiting to shine once I'm in a calm, loving home. I'm just looking for my person... someone who understands a girl like me.
