SPARKY's Story

Meet SPARKY!

Looking for a fun-loving sidekick with a heart of gold? Meet SPARKY!

SPARKY is a handsome 30-pound boy with a youthful spirit and all the playful puppy energy you could ask for. SPARKY is 11 to 14 months of age and purely young at heart, full of life, and always ready for his next adventure.

This sweet boy loves playing with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine friend to romp around with. He is spunky, goofy, and loves to have fun, but underneath his playful personality is a gentle soul. SPARKY can be a little shy and timid when meeting new people or experiencing new situations. With patience, kindness, and positive guidance, he's already showing that his confidence continues to grow each day.

One thing we absolutely love about SPARKY is how wonderful he is on a leash. Whether you're taking a stroll through the neighborhood or exploring a new trail, he's a great walking companion.

We're not yet sure how he feels about cats, but so far he doesn't appear to have a high prey drive. He ignores outdoor cats.

SPARKY did get a DNA done and he is 50% Australian Cattle Dog. THis means he is super smart and has tendencies to want to control things with his mouth through nipping. A breed savvy home is important. He is not recommended for children under 10 years of age.

SPARKY is looking for a family that will see the incredible dog he is becoming. He is searching for a family willing to give him a little time, lots of love, and the opportunity to blossom into the confident companion we know he's meant to be.

Could SPARKY be the missing piece of your family? We'd love for you to come meet him and see if he's the perfect fit!

What we know so far:
- Weight: 30 pounds
- 50% Australian Cattle Dog
- Neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped
- Young with playful puppy energy
- Crate trained and housetrained
- Loves other dogs
- Sweet, fun, and affectionate
- No fear with loud noises or thunder
- Great on a leash
- Shy at first but gaining confidence every day
- No signs of a high prey drive so far
- No kids under the age of 10 years

SPARKY is ready to trade shelter/foster life for couch cuddles, backyard zoomies, and a family to call his very own.

EPIC Outreach's Adoption Policy
EPIC Outreach is committed to helping both pet pigs and people build a long-lasting happy and healthy relationship for the lifetime of the pig. EPIC serves to be a resource of information to help pet pig parents keep their pet pig for its lifetime. Occasionally EPIC will have pet pigs available for adoption. Each pig available will have specific needs and personalities. EPIC works primarily with animal control and government agencies who take in potbelly pigs and/or mixes that are strays, are confiscated from cruelty/hoarding situations, or are abandoned. Often the pigs have unknown histories. Each pig available for adoption will have been vetted and evaluated for health and behavior needs. Each pig’s home expectations will be shared transparently. Before you ADOPT Thank you for doing your research before adopting a pet pig. While pigs are clean and social, they do have emotional and physical needs to be met for a happy and healthy life. Before you ADOPT, please consider the following: A pet pig (potbelly and/or mix) can live 10-20 years and needs to be a lifetime commitment. Where do you live? If you live in a residential home have you checked county ordinances and your HOA. A county ordinance might allow a pet pig, but your HOA might say no. Do you have the time? Pigs love to have their mind stimulated. Without proper mental stimulation they can be destructive. Providing a pet pig with things to do is very important. For more information on how pigs make great pets please read this great article written by Founder Jessie Miller: PIGS MAKE GREAT PETS. Please also read the following about the basic care of a pet pig: LEARNING TO CARE FOR YOUR PET PIG. If you’re still interested in adopting a pet pig and you think you’re a great fit home for one of the available pigs listed below please email Jessie at epicanimals2015@gmail.com. EPIC Outreach’s adoption process is an OPEN CONCEPT and will start with a conversation and then arrange a meet and greet with your potential new pet pig. We look forward to meeting you and talking all things PIGS!
