Sparky's Story

Meet Sparky — a little spark of joy wrapped in a fluffy German Shepherd mix puppy.

At just three months old and about 19 pounds, Sparky is growing quickly and learning something new every day. She’s the kind of puppy who will grow into a loyal, fun-loving companion and a deeply devoted member of the family.

Sparky earned her name from the white, sparkly patch on her chest and the little sprinkle of white at the tip of her tail — but it also fits her bright, curious personality perfectly. The warm brown coloring on her paws hints at her German Shepherd heritage.

This playful girl loves stuffed toys and chew bones and pounces on them with the enthusiasm of a prancing pony. Exploring the garden is another favorite activity. Everything is fascinating to Sparky — the smell of grass, the sound of birds, and especially the discovery of a good stick.

She’s a smart pup and already learning commands like Come, Sit, and Leave It. Sparky is also working on good puppy manners. She’s figuring out that while the big dog beds look tempting, her own cozy bed surrounded by favorite toys is a pretty great place to relax too.

Potty training is in progress, and she’s starting to understand that a walk around the yard on leash means it’s time to take care of business. She is also enjoying her daily walks and backyard playtime with her foster siblings!

Sparky sleeps through the night in her crate and, after a little initial protest, settles in nicely for crate time during the day.

With her playful spirit, quick mind, and sweet personality, Sparky is ready to bring a whole lot of sparkle into her future family’s life.

Apply online (http://poundpuppyrescue.org/adoptapp.php) for a chance to meet Sparky.

Please be sure to read our FAQs for information about our adoption process and fees.
