Meet Sparky – Your Goofy, Loyal Shadow<br/><br/>Sparky is a 4-year-old brindle and white pit mix with a big body (80–85 lbs) and an even bigger personality. This handsome guy came into our care after his beloved original owner passed away, and he’s been part of our family for over a year now. Despite all the change in his life, Sparky remains a bubbly, affectionate, and wonderfully goofy companion.<br/><br/>Sparky loves learning tricks, going for runs, playing tug-of-war, and—most of all—snuggling up for long naps with his favorite people. He’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and very comfortable relaxing in his crate where he happily chews his toys or snoozes. He does great at the vet and absolutely adores the staff there!<br/><br/>Sparky is very loyal and protective of his people, which makes him an excellent companion for someone experienced with dogs who appreciates a devoted sidekick. On walks, he’s attentive and responsive to commands like “leave it” and “stay,” and he’s been working hard with training to improve his reactions around other animals. He’s highly food-motivated, eager to please, and responds beautifully to structured introductions and positive reinforcement.<br/><br/>Because Sparky can be reactive to other animals and small children, he’s looking for an adult-only home where he can be the only pet and continue building on the training foundation he already has. With proper introductions, patience, and consistency, he does wonderfully meeting new people—especially after a walk and with a few treats involved!<br/><br/>At home, Sparky is a total cuddle bug who just wants to be near his humans. He thrives on routine, enjoys mental stimulation, and bonds deeply with those he trusts.
