This is an adorable Chiweenie (1/2 Chihuahua and 1/2 Daschund) that has just been added into our program. She is super adorable and is ready for adoption.<br/><br/>Sophie Grace is an owner surrender to CRT. Her original owner abandoned her with a senior citizen roommate when she moved out to move in with her boyfriend. The boyfriend would not let her keep Sophie Grace. The senior citizen caring for Sophie Grace recently badly injured her leg and is longer able to care for her. She asked us to find Sophie Grace the perfect forever home and we promised her we would! This girl is darling and we are happy to have her.<br/><br/>Sophie Grace gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. She enjoys playing with them and will initiate play time. She is an active girl who loves to explore. She is always checking out new areas of the house to see if there is anything interesting she should know about. Sophie Grace also loves toys of all kinds. She hopes her forever family has a big toy budget!<br/><br/>Sophie Grace loves people and has never met a stranger. She is the first to meet visitors and doesn’t mind being the center of attention. If they want to pet her and love on her, she’s all in. So if you have visitors, she will love that! Sophie Grace wants to be around her family and will follow you from room to room. She is a tripping hazard. We are working with her on that, but her new family will want to be aware. She loves snuggling on laps, so if you are interested in a lap dog, Sophie Grace wants to volunteer for the job!<br/><br/>Sophie Grace was born on 9/26/2020 and has just turned 5 years old. She is 11.2 pounds and is fully grown. Sophie Grace has a beautiful tan coat with white highlights. We love her ears. Her foster Mom says she is super sweet and she knows it! Her personality shines and we adore her.<br/><br/>Sophie Grace is totally potty trained. She has not had any accidents in her foster home. We are teaching her how to use a doggy door. Sophie Grace does not like crates, and will cry if crated. She would much prefer to sleep with her humans at night and cuddle up against them. Sophie Grace LOVES walks. When the harness and leash come out, she gets super excited. She is currently taking 45 minute walks with her foster family and would love for her new family to go on walks with her every day.<br/><br/>The perfect home for Sophie Grace would be one with moderate energy and a lot of love. Sophie enjoys other dogs and would love to have another young dog (1 – 5 years) to grow up with. She might be ok being an only dog, but would need extra attention from her family each day to keep her occupied. She is fairly quiet. Sophie Grace originally lived in an apartment, and we know she does well in an apartment environment. She is currently living in a home with a fenced in yard and loves to explore and sunbathe. Sophie Grace would do well with a work at home family. She would love to hang around in your office and would be no problem at all. Sophie Grace does need a family who can check on her every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works away from home 10-12 hours a day). There are no children in her foster home but she enjoys meeting children at our Meet and Greet events. We think she would do well in a home with older, mature children (8 and older).<br/><br/>Sophie Grace is being fostered in the Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) area. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300.00 adoption donation required.<br/><br/>As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention.
