Sophie's Story
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Sophie is a wonderful 12 pound, approximately 11 year old sweetheart whose prior family neglected her and made her live outside with no shelter for two long years. We pulled her from a shelter after she was rescued from that situation.

When Sophie came to us, she was totally shut down. She just wanted to sit in her crate, just sat there with concerned eyes. When we let her out in the backyard she would just run in our outdoor shower and cower.

After about a week, every day we would see just a little bit more of life in her and now, about a month later, she walks on a leash, is very very happy to see us, wags her tail, jumps up on the couch and rolls around on the blankets in joy!

Sophie is fine with dogs. She doesn’t play with them, just coexists peacefully.

She has absolutely no aggression at all, just walks away if scared.

She is so adorable and endearing. Not demanding at all.
Sophie is a quiet, gentle girl.

She is crate trained and house trained if let out on a schedule. She can hold her pee a long time!!

She has a heart murmur and needs meds daily but has no symptoms.

She has no remaining teeth and she did just have mammary tumors surgically removed (some malignant with with a low chance of metastasis) and is doing great!

We’re thrilled to share that Sophie is partially sponsored by Vintage Fur Senior Dogs Inc! She’ll receive $600 annually in veterinary coverage for life. This can help cover medications, bloodwork, imaging, and more. Contact Loving Pet Project NC or visit vintagefur.org to learn more.

Sophie is a really delightful pup who is so grateful to be safe, warm and loved again. She is looking for a peaceful home that will appreciate an adorable, gentle little senior.

Sophie is currently being fostered in Oak Island, NC and her foster mom wishes that her new home be fairly close to Oak Island so that foster mom can help her with the transition to her new home.

Adoption donation $200.

?Please note that we do not ship animals.
