Sophie's Story
ADOPTION FEE: $300 - FULLY VETTED: spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and current on prevention, dental cleaning, micro chipped

Application REQUIRED and found online: www.caninerescue1.org

Sophie is a tiny (4-5 lbs) "chorkie" (yorkie/chihuahua) who is approx 2 yrs old.

Sophie came to rescue when she (and others) was confiscated by animal control from a hoarding situation. She then spent 3 months confined to a crate in an
overcrowded shelter while her case went to court.

Sophie is tiny, but mighty! She is a little timid with people but warms up very quickly! She is one of the happiest little girls I've fostered in a while! She LOVES other dogs, LOVES outside, and will always bring "something" (a twig, leaf, rock, etc) when she comes back inside.

Sophie has bi-lateral luxating patellas - a birth defect of the knees. She is NOT IN PAIN (evidenced by her running full blast across the yard!) and therefore not a candidate for corrective surgery. She is not on any kind of medication either.

Sophie appears to be housetrained -- will gleefully run outside and will also use potty pads when inside. Excellent with all other dogs; TOO DELICATE for homes with small children (adult home only, please).

To adopt this comical little bundle of joy:

FENCED yard -- NO EXCEPTIONS
Commitment to time, consistency, and patience to allow her to decompress from her traumatic past

The rewards of having Sophie join your family will far outweigh the time and effort to allow her to BLOSSOM!

Are YOU the family she is waiting for?
