Somers's Story

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application

Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

Somers is a beautiful German Shepherd who came to us as a stray and, sadly, was never claimed. She’s estimated to be around 5 years old, is housetrained, and has shown herself to be a deeply loving, gentle companion.

Somers adores every person she has met. She bonds quickly, leans in for affection, and wants nothing more than to be someone’s devoted shadow. However, she’s made it very clear that she prefers to be the only pet in the home. She doesn’t enjoy the company of other dogs, and she confidently believes that once you have her, you won’t need any other pet!

Like many dogs of her breed and age, Somers has a bit of mild hip discomfort. She gets around very well, but appreciates a little help with higher steps, such as a car ramp or a booster step onto the couch for snuggle time. As she matures, joint supplements will likely help her stay comfortable and active. She currently weighs about 78 pounds.

What Somers wants most is simple: a soft bed near the fire, a human who loves her, and the chance to be someone’s loyal, constant companion.

If you’re looking for a sweet, steady, people-loving German Shepherd who will fill your home with quiet devotion, Somers may be your perfect match.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Somers is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
