SOKKA #2's Story

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog.

Please Contact (Current Owner of Dog): Liz Dimit; 520-336-8010; lizdimit3@gmail.com

MEET SOKKA #2!!

Meet Sokka, a handsome 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog weighing about 45 pounds who is ready to find an active home of his own! This intelligent, affectionate boy is leash trained, crate trained, rides beautifully in the car, and loves nothing more than a good game of fetch. Tennis balls don't stand a chance, stuffed toys quickly lose their squeakers, and you'll often find Sokka patiently waiting by the toy cabinet, hoping it's time to play. When playtime is over, he transforms into a total cuddle bug who loves butt scratches, resting his head in your lap, and staying close to his favorite people—he truly is the definition of a velcro dog. Sokka is highly intelligent, knows his basic commands along with cues like "place," "quiet," and "backup," and is eager to learn, although he occasionally shows the classic independent streak that Australian Cattle Dogs are known for. He enjoys adventures, car rides, and is very food motivated, making training fun and rewarding. Sokka gets along well with cats and has successfully lived with a friendly female dog as well as a younger 70-pound male Heeler, though he can be more selective with some male dogs and generally prefers doing his own thing rather than playing with other dogs. He does best with calm introductions and dogs that respect his space. Sokka is a loving, loyal, playful companion who thrives with his people and deserves a home where he can relax, be himself, and enjoy the active life he loves. DID YOU KNOW?: All of Underdog's animals are fully vetted prior to adoption, including spay/neutered, and vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. All of our pets are placed into loving, caring foster homes until they are adopted. This is so they have been fully acclimated to a home environment prior to going to a new family. They are typically fully housebroken, leash trained, crate trained, and know basic commands. All potential adopters are required to complete an Adoption Application, review and sign our adoption Policies and Procedures and participate in a home visit conducted by one of our adoption representatives. Underdog allows a 14 day "Foster With Intent To Adopt" trial period, so that you can make sure that your new family member is a perfect fit before making if official!
