Soia's Story
Personality:
Very shy and nervous, but is opening up! Feels more confident with other dogs around.

Education:
Pee pad trained. Working on confidence building to start learning house and leash manners.

Favorite Activities:
Chewing Bully sticks, enjoying all things dairy (cheese, cream cheese, yogurt)! She loves her foster siblings, likes quiet and calm spaces.

Looking For:
A calm home with a fenced yard where she can relax and be herself. She is shy and needs decompression time. Doggie pal would help her thrive and be more confident!

Special Needs:
Needs another dog sibling.

Bio:
Gentlest baby of them all!

Hi there! My name is Soia, and I'm a 42-pound Lab mix. I came all the way from The Bahamas, where I was rescued by Voiceless Dogs of Nassau before they closed down. I've had a bit of a rough start, so I'm still learning to trust people and feel safe in new environments. Right now, I'm pee pad trained, but I can potty outside if I feel comfortable and have the chance! I haven't learned how to walk on a leash yet, but I'm hopeful that I'll get there soon. I am taking Prozac to help manage my anxiety (~$10.00 for a month's supply, price will vary depending in where purchased and market value).

When I first arrived at TAP, I was a little shut down, but I'm slowly gaining confidence every day. I'm still a bit nervous and like to keep my distance from people, especially when I can see them, but when I have my foster siblings around, I feel braver and enjoy exploring more. I'm a quiet girl, and I love other dogs, so I'd really appreciate having a doggy friend in my forever home. I haven't met any cats yet, but I'm pretty sure I'd be fine with them. I do like older, respectful of space kinda kids, though!

I used to spend most of my time in my pen or crate, but I'm also a curious girl who made a huge progress - I now go in my crate or pen only when it's time to eat. The rest of the time, I enjoy lounging on the couch or dog beds! I'm a sweet girl, and with a little time and patience, I know I'll open up and bond with my forever family. I need a calm, mellow home where I can decompress and feel safe, with people who are ready to spoil me and help me learn to trust, and a fenced yard to feel safe. I might be a bit shy at first, but I promise I'll be a loving, loyal companion once I know I'm in the right place.

My adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to meet me, please apply!
