Socks's Story

Hello, my name is Socks, although my foster family calls me Nox! I was previously adopted at 4 months old but returned to the rescue 4 months later due to a secular job change and my family decided they couldn’t give me proper care. So, I’m 8 months old now and have moved in with my foster family in Arlington WA.

My foster mom happens to be a trainer, so even though there are more rules to follow and boundaries to respect, I’m having so much fun playing with my foster fur-friends and learning new skills and better ways to communicate.

I am already potty trained with potty bells and dog doors; I recently got neutered so my hormones are still leveling out. I know how to sit, shake, lay down, go to my place or bed, and I happily go into my kennel where I eat, sleep, and chill if the family is away. I’m still learning a lot though and would benefit greatly if my forever family is able to have patience with me.

Living here and getting structure and proper exercise for my puppy energy has been perfect for me. I’m now learning how to calm down after being excited and a steady routine helps me know what to expect in my day-to-day life.

I love to run and play in the yard, snuggle with my people, and go for walks even though my leash manners aren’t the best yet. I love kids, especially if they throw the ball for me, however, I am a bigger guy and sometimes I lack spatial awareness, so please forgive me if I’m in the way or flop down on your feet. Sometimes my tail can knock things over too, but I am trying to be more aware. I do tend to have a harder time if there is food around so I will need continued practice with “leave it” and staying out of the kitchen. My foster mom says I’m super smart and a fast learner so that’s a bonus!

I also love to play with other dogs as long as they don’t try to hump me or come at me with dominance. I’m a pretty chill dude but those behaviors make me feel defensive, so, calm, friendly and playful dogs are best for me. The smallest dog I’ve been around is a Frenchie; I may need slower intros and more supervision around any dogs smaller than that. I’ve never met a cat so I’m not sure how that would go but I do get startled by tumbling leaves in the wind while also wanting to chase anything that runs. I know I’m a little goofy and hopefully that’s the quality you’ll love most about me.

Overall, I’m looking for a loving home with kids and possibly other happy, friendly dogs to play with. I’ll definitely need a family who is committed, patient, and willing to keep me accountable to the house rules, and one that can work with my energy level and overall size.

I’m just a clumsy, goofy guy looking for a family to love, is that you? If it is, please fill out an application today – www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.

Meet Bjorn – Big Heart, Bigger Personality He came all the way from California to find his forever home and family, along with his 11 siblings. Bjorn was born on January 18, 2025; he is being fostered in Arlington, WA.

At just 13 weeks old, Bjorn is already living up to his name—which means "bear"—with his bold, playful spirit and cuddly charm. A Boxer mix (with maybe a dash of Mastiff, Shepherd, and Terrier magic), this handsome pup is growing fast and stealing hearts even faster.

Bjorn is everything you could want in a puppy: confident, outgoing, and full of joy. He plays hard, naps harder, and makes the absolute cutest little dream-woofs while he's sleeping (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds). He’s doing great on a leash, loves meeting new people, and is especially smitten with kids—his tail starts wagging the moment he sees a tiny human.

He’s curious about bunnies on walks, but so far, he’s more of a watcher than a chaser—so it seems his prey drive is pretty mellow for now. Bjorn’s the kind of pup who can keep up with your adventures and snuggle up at the end of the day like a total pro. He's usually pretty good on drives in the car, though he will whine a bit initially, but we think it’s anticipation more than fear and he eventually will settle down and go to sleep.

This boy is going to be a big, beautiful dog with an even bigger heart. He’s looking for a forever family who will guide him as he grows, give him plenty of playtime and snuggles, and let him keep being the confident, joyful pup he was born to be.

Are you ready for a best friend who will make you laugh daily, keep you on your toes, and love you unconditionally? Because Bjorn is ready for you. Fill out an application today – www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.

MustLuvBoxers Rescue's Adoption Policy
Locations we serve: We are currently accepting applications from residents in Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho (close to the WA border), and some areas of Canada. While we serve the majority of these areas, in some cases we cannot find a volunteer to home check certain areas of these states. For that reason, your application may be denied. Same Sex Dogs in a Household: Our rescue does not adopt dogs out to households that already have a dog of the same sex. This is due to increased aggression and dominance issues among same sex dogs. This also applies to dogs who are frequent visitors in your home. In some cases, we allow dogs with a 9+ year age difference to be placed in the same home. Application Types: Below you will be asked to select what type of application you would like to submit. Adoption Application: you are interested in adopting a rescue dog who is in foster care. Foster-to-Adopt Application: you are interested in fostering a dog for a three week period with the intention to adopt. If you decide the dog is not a good fit, you will continue fostering until the dog is adopted out through the standard adoption process. This process requires you to be on Facebook to interact with our support group after your application is processed. Foster Application: you are interested in providing a safe, structured and loving home for a rescue dog until they find their forever home through the adoption process. All supplies and medical expenses will be covered. This process requires you to be on Facebook to interact with our support group after your application is processed. What to Expect When Fostering or Fostering-to-Adopt: There is no perfect dog when fostering. Each dog that comes into foster care has their own unique personalities, many that just need love and care to work through undesirable behaviors. Most of these dogs have never had a safe, secure or loving home like you will be providing them. We will never ask a foster to take a human-aggressive or a dog with extreme behavioral issues. Those dogs go to our seasoned fosters or trainers. Every dog that comes into MLBR will have different quirks or issues; whether it be needing a single dog home, medical, crate and potty training, working through their fears, crate rotation, etc. Crate training a dog is not a punishment. Utilizing a crate in the home creates a safe space for the dog to decompress. Each dog will have different comfort levels, and not all are going to be social, which is okay; it doesn’t mean they’re not adoptable.
