Socks's Story

Socks | 32 lbs | 2 years old | dog-friendly | GTA

Socks is a sweetheart from the tips of her ears to the toes of her bright, white socks! This girl is very gentle and craves safety and connection. Having grown up in a shelter she is a little bit shy as she adjusts to a brand new life, but since coming into our care and moving into a foster home, she has shown amazing progress. She has bonded easily with her foster mom, and is starting to discover the joys of playing, morning snuggles in bed, and leash walks. She's currently living with a senior dog and the two of them do very well together.

Socks' foster mom describes her as "bouncy!" As she settles in, she loves to bound over to greet people, run and play. Socks is also a chiller and doesn't require a ton of exercise; she likes going out for walks or spending time in the yard--even in snow!--but she's not high energy and is happy to cuddle on the couch with her fam. She is fully housetrained, and excellent on leash (though still getting used to loud noises).

Socks' dream home would be quiet, and ideally include a calm dog sibling. She doesn't like a lot of unpredictability or noise so young children and higher energy or more assertive dogs are not her preference.

Socks is so gentle and has a low prey drive. This girl is sweet, playful, and tender. She has so much love to give and deserves so much in return!

If you think you could be a loving steward to this gentle and affectionate heart, then please apply at the link: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application
