She came to us from a rural shelter with her sister. Because our foster organization in Myrtle Beach, SC reached out to me with these two pups and told <br/>me there was no longer an option for them at the shelter, and the next day would be their last day, you are now being introduced to the first of our pair of sisters. <br/><br/>This girl is Mittens. The idea that both girls were born in the shelter and a year and a half later they are still living there and scheduled for their last day broke my heart. The idea that they were both 1) heart worm positive. 2) obese from lack of exercise. 3) unsure of what's going on and not confident with their new found freedom at the day care/boarding facility and, 4) they are clueless about toys and playing. AND YET the fact that they are super sweet with staff and anxious to please speaks volumes about these girls. This was all it took for me to know they belonged in our rescue.<br/><br/>Two sisters who deserved better. Can you imaging what it's like to be born in a shelter Can you imagine what it's like to live in that shelter for almost 1.5 years- in a crate in a closet? It did not take Socks long to find happiness in her new found freedom. Going to a family and a home will add icing to the cake for her. She is loving and kind and gentle and playful and enjoying time with so many friends now. Playing with toys is new and fun. She loves being with her sister but is also happy with alone time! Located in Myrtle Beach, she is available to be transported to an approved adopter anywhere along the east coast from SC to ME.
