Snoopy's Story

Howdy! I’m Snoopy, a 6-year-old tiny beagle, which is the perfect size for an armful of love.

I had a pack with lots of togetherness, including our puppies. Then one day, everything changed. Suddenly, I was on the side of the road with my friends, trying to keep them safe and trying to understand what had happened.

When new humans came near, I was scared. I didn’t know if they could be trusted, so I did what I thought I had to do — I kept my distance and tried to protect my friends. Living in a foster home, I’m learning now that not all humans are scary.

I’m actually a very sweet girl. I’m just shy. I need a little time to get to know you before I let you see the real me. Loud noises can be scary too! Instead, take me for a nice, quiet walk. Let me sniff and explore. That's when I feel happiest and most like myself.

I’m good on a leash and seem to be house-trained. Once I leave my foster mom, I might need a little refresher course. You know what helps me feel brave?
Another dog! When I have a doggy friend beside me, I come out of my shell, start to relax, run, play, and get silly! And you get to see the funny little girl hiding underneath all that shyness.

If you have patience and lots of love to give, I'm your girl, and a canine sibling would be the cherry on top! Please call the shelter to set up a meet-and-greet. My foster Mom says you won't regret it.

Maybe, someday soon, I'll stop looking over my shoulder and start believing that I've finally found my people.
