Snoop Dawg's Story

Snoop is a 1.5 year old, 55 lb, white labsky or huskador depending on which part of his body you look at. His torso is lab as or his feathered 'pants' while his tail has some husky curl to it and his bicoloured eyes also say husky. Snoop's eyes are totally unique as instead of being one brown and one blue, his are one hazel, one blue. In 30 years of working in the north, his foster mum has never seen this before.

Snoop is loving life in his foster home where he is good with dogs, cats, kids, men and women. He is still learning what being in a house is all about but he's mastering it new thing by new thing, and after he makes the rounds sniffing here and there, you can find him with a toy in his mouth or lying by his favourite person. He is house trained and crate trained though he would rather sleep next to his human's bed than in his crate.

Outside he loves his offleash runs with his foster bros and always comes back to make sure his person is still coming. He cannot be described as a super athlete, more like someone who stopped gym class as soon as it was no longer mandatory. He lived tied up in his northern life so he can still be tone deaf to his name if there is something that smells more exciting, but he's working on name recognition and coming for a yummy treat and high pitched squeal of praise.

Superpowers you ask? Well, he hasn't met a toy he doesn't like, he can chew through a leash in no time if you forget to unclip it after a walk, and if he could, he would be as close to his peeps as possible - leaning against you, pushing in, sitting on your foot. This boy was made for giving and getting love.

Snoop is looking for a home where affection is served up on a regular basis. He would make a great family member to anyone who loves to be part of a dog's transition to contentment.

Snoop is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $800. Snoop is currently fostering in the Caledon area.

**A consult with The Northern Dogs Project's partner dog centric behaviourist is mandatory for anyone interested in adopting Snoop at a cost of $80. This consult gets everyone on the same page and on their way to success.

Adoption process includes application, virtual home visit, phone interview, reference check, meet & greet, adoption contract and $800 adoption fee.

***Fill out the ADOPTION APPLICATION at:
https://signup.ifaw.org/en-ca/northern-dogs-adoption-application-form

Snoop Dawg is busy filming The Voice on Monday nights but otherwise is keeping his hazel eye on Petfinder. He wants to find his new home pronto.

Northern Dogs Project's Adoption Policy
Northern dogs are not a breed but a lifestyle. Until recently most dogs were free roaming but communities are now making changes to how they want to coexist with dogs and many are now tying. Dogs are all identified by Animal Care and are adopted to families in the south as family members only. Northern dogs are smart, experienced, dog social, have been handled by kids, feel safe with women, and are slightly unsure of men at first. Dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (core vaccines DAPP and rabies), microchipped and dewormed.
