Meet our very own Smooches.<br/><br/>Smooches is approximately 5 years old and the definition of a good boy. <br/><br/>Smooches knows “sit” and “down” like an absolute champ. He also is SO great about his crate and does not whine or bark at all, nor does he make it difficult for you to put him back in his crate for the night or when you're stepping out. But he sure is excited when you return! <br/><br/>So far, Smooches is a good boy on leash that just needs some redirection at times. He LOVES people and wants to greet people that pass by and can, at times, want to jump up to say hi to people passing by. His foster has quickly learned that they can step to the side and tell him to sit down to let people pass by but is so happy if people are interested in saying hi.<br/><br/>We have not seen Smooches interact with kids so far, but he does love to jump up and give hugs that might be too much for smaller kids. I have a 20 pound dog that Smooches completely ignores and has ignored other dogs so far on the street. We do know from his shelter days he did well with the other dogs there.<br/><br/>If there is one thing to know about Smooches, it is that he LOVES LOVE. This guy wants to be pet, hugged, cuddled, he just wants to be next to you, and he is so perfect that he can also be put in his crate and not have a single complaint. He also loves bones and breakfast/dinner time and is so gentle when taking treats/bones.<br/><br/>Smooches will do his business as soon as we're on our walks and isn't fussy about it, and in fact, he's completely housebroken.<br/><br/>While I'm not sure what Smooches's past is, I believe he was left at a police station and brought into the shelter. But he was clearly loved based on the way he behaves with me/ him seeming to know basic commands. He genuinely assumes that everyone loves him immediately. Whoever gets to love and be loved by Smooches for the rest of his time will be truly lucky.
