Smokey

Smokey is a 9-year-old, 75-pound sweetheart who came to our Sanctuary after being rescued from an overcrowded shelter. While we don’t know much about his life before that, we do know he arrived at his previous shelter in rough shape — covered in fleas and with irritated skin. Thankfully, with some much-needed TLC, Smokey has healed and his gentle spirit has shined through. <br/><br/>Though his hearing seems to be fading, Smokey’s vision is still strong, and he’s adapting well. He does have an old ACL injury that our vet is currently managing with pain medication. So far, he’s responding well, though surgery may be needed in the future.<br/><br/>Through it all, Smokey remains a calm, sweet, and incredibly handsome boy. He takes everything in stride and is learning to enjoy the safety and care of his new surroundings. He is currently in a foster home and doing well.
