Smokey

Smokey was found wandering the streets by a volunteer from German Shepherd Rescue nearly 2 yrs ago. After a year he finally found a home, however after 1 1/2 yrs in that home he is coming back due to the couple having a baby....Any help networking this boy is appreciated, he does not do well in boarding...Smokey is a loving and energetic dog that would make a wonderful life companion. Though we estimate he is about 3 years old, Smokey has the energy and playfulness of a puppy. He likes going for runs or hikes and spending time at the dog park, fetching balls or rolling round in the grass with other dogs. Smokey is very well trained and can heel on and off leash, sit, stay, come, lay down and shake. Smokey often mistakes himself for a lap dog and tries to curl up on your lap despite his medium-large size (65 lbs). Smokey needs a home with plenty of energy and willingness to take him outdoors for exercise, an owner who is consistent in keeping up the training, and lots of love. Smokey does great with other dogs and is extremely playful, however, he should not be in a home with cats.
