Smokey's Story

Smokey came into our care as a forced surrender due to living conditions and neglect. He was infested with fleas which resulted him loosing his hair, and having bare skin. He has had lots of medicated baths, and TLC and he is looking like a brand new boy! He is about 7 years old, and even though his appearance didn’t look the best upon his arrival, he has the gentle-est heart! We were told he does not do the best with other dogs and would prefer to be the only canine in the home, regardless of him living with 2 other dogs in his previous home, but he seems to just be selective, and prefers the ladies. Cats and kids are unknown, but there was a cat with babies in the house previously. Smokey is now in a foster home being treated like the King he is, so a meet and greet would require a couple days to arrange. He has a heart of gold, is gentle, smart and loyal. Give this boy the best life you can for the rest of his days!
If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together!
All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts. Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at :https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-application/
