Meet Slim Jim!
He’s now a GCI (Grafton Correctional Institute) Trained Graduate!! He was adored by his trainer who shared this: “Slim is a very affectionate dog. He can still be a bit nervous in meeting new people, but warms up quickly. Slim bonds hard with his person! He’s a smart dog, house trained, and walks very well on a leash! Best with older children in his new home.”

This ever so affectionate approximately 2 year old pittie mix was originally found as a stray, and in need of TLC. He has just blossomed with the care he received at FAPL and so deserves a wonderful home. Slim Jim is adored by everyone! He’s just that friendly of a dog!! He’s great on a leash and shhhhhh … he thinks he’s a lap dog! Slim Jim, just a love of a guy!! Staff and volunteer favorite!!

No appointment is necessary to adopt. Our business hours are 11am - 4:30pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will not be accepted in advance.

If you have dogs and/or kids in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Dogs 7 months and older are heartworm tested.
