Slider-Boston, MA's Story

Location: Boston, MA

Yep, I’m Slider. Whether it’s hiking, going on long runs, playing fetch in the pond, or just lying around the house, I make every activity better. I am an affectionate, active, loyal 5-year-old who loves spending time outdoors and cuddling up at home. I am truly man’s best friend.

I was rescued at just eight weeks old and am an excellent companion. I am deaf and, therefore, was trained with hand signals and an e-collar. I took to both quickly as I am highly intelligent and food-motivated, which makes training with me both enjoyable and effective!

I am both crate and muzzle-trained. I feel safest when I’m in my own space. I spent most of my life with a single adult, and I am extremely comfortable in that type of environment. You should know that I am slow to trust new people and need a home where I can be introduced to new people gradually. When strangers reach for me, I may nip out of fear, but if I meet someone properly, I build trust quickly, and I love my friends and family deeply.

I have also been successful at my doggie daycare for five years, working with many other dogs and people. I do not like to share his food or treats. If there is another dog in the home, I need to eat in my crate. I would really do best as a single dog.

I am the epitome of a velcro-Dalmatian and will thrive with a confident, experienced owner. By the way, I love: Bacon, popcorn, playing in water and on grass, tug, as well as sleeping next to my human.

Can you be the special home he needs?

Please copy & paste the link below into your browser for our application:
https://www.jotform.com/form/243374218477059

Questions: Emails us at: info@savethedals.org

**Disclaimer: None of our dogs have been DNA tested, so we cannot guaranty they are 100% full pure breeds.**

Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue's Adoption Policy
The first step in our adoption process is for the prospective adopter to complete our Adoption Application Questionnaire which helps us best match you with the the dog that would be most suited to your home environment and expectations. Email us at info@savethedals.org with the name of the dog that interests you and we will send you our Adoption Application Questionnaire. If based on the Application Questionnaire we think one of our dogs is a good match to your home environment and expectations, we will follow up with a phone call, advise you of the adoption fee, schedule a home visit if applicable, and arrange a meet and greet with the dog. Adopters are also required to sign our Adoption Contract; you will be provided a copy of the contract for you to review and ask questions before you adopt the dog. Note that we often have multiple applicants wanting to adopt the same dog. Our selection process is not based on whose application we receive first. It is based on who we believe will be the best match for the dog, allowing for the greatest success of a high quality, loving forever home, with the least likelihood of the dog needing to be returned to rescue. We commit to the life of each dog we rescue, such that at any point in the life of the dog if its adopter is no longer able to keep the dog, the adopter signs our adoption contract agreeing that they will return the dog to Save The Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue. The dog is not to be turned into an animal shelter.
