SKYE **video!**'s Story
SKYE, affectionately called Mrs. Kravitz in her foster home, is now available for adoption! She is true to the breed and needs to know what’s going on at all times! She is a busy girl.

Skye is an approximately 1 old German shepherd dog and weighs about 55 pounds. She was a stray at a kill shelter so we just had to bring her in to save her.

Skye gets along with other dogs, but can be pretty pushy and intense when at play so needs guidance at times. *For this reason we do not consider Skye a candidate for the dog park.* She has a great temperament and loves working for treats. Skye is going to need a home that is familiar with the breed and willing to continue her training. Skye does take corrections from other dogs quite well and we are allowing this to happen in her foster home so she gets familiar with the family structure. She’s a lover, not a fighter so all is well.

Skye is a moderate to high energy dog and will need daily exercise, but she settles nicely indoors if her energy needs are met. This can include physical exercise as well as obedience or other training or games. She LOVES to run big when she can, as seen in her video. Skye has AMAZINGLY good house manners for a young dog fresh out of the shelter. She is housetrained, crate trained, is not a counter surfer or destructive in the house. Quick learner? Why yes, she is! **Please note: We do recommend supervision until a new canine family member has earned your trust.**

Skye does bark if she thinks something is amiss, but is not a nuisance barker. One warning…she sometimes startles awake and will bark. After spending a month in a shelter we totally understand this. Relax, baby girl, relax.

She rides well in the car in her crate. She’s been good with all the people she has met so far. If someone walks through your front door and she hasn’t met them, she will bark. We expect this in the German shepherd dog breed. Introductions are necessary.

So much potential here!

Skye’s adoption fee is $350 and includes spay, microchip and vaccines. If you feel so inclined to donate more, it would be much appreciated. Our cost for each dog is far greater than $350.

If interested in possibly adopting or meeting Skye, please complete an application for us:

https://idawg.org/application.html
