Sky's Story

Meet the Scruffy Street Brothers

These two adorable little terrier mixes (Sky and Chubaka) were rescued off the streets of Mexico and recently made the journey north in search of something they've never truly had — a safe, loving home. They are 3-month-old puppies, which means they are equal parts adorable and chaotic. They are curious, playful, affectionate, energetic, and absolutely not potty trained. They are learning everything for the very first time — how to live inside, how to trust, how to be someone's dog. If you're looking for a perfectly trained, low-maintenance dog... these are not your boys.

If you're looking for a scruffy little best friend you can shape, guide, and grow up with — keep reading.

Brother #1 – Sky

If scruffy terrier charm were a sport, he'd already have a gold medal. This sweet little guy is curious about the world and ready to explore it with his person by his side. He's playful, bouncy, and full of puppy enthusiasm — which means zoomies, chewing, and yes... lots of potty training in your future.

He's still learning:

Where to go potty (hint: not your rug)
What's a toy vs. what's not a toy
That humans are safe and kind (he does love attention!!!)

What he does know?

How to melt into you when he's tired.
How to look at you with those big, hopeful eyes.
How to make you laugh daily.

Estimated adult size: likely around 15 lbs full grown — the perfect “sturdy small” size.

He will thrive in a home committed to:

Consistent training
Patience
Structure
Lots of snuggles

He's not just adopting a family — he's looking for someone to show him how this whole “home life” thing works. NOTE: Don't forget to take advantage of our training reimbursement program

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.

The Rescue Crew's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through The Rescue Crew! Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our shared goal to “Save a Life Today.” We are a completely volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, which means all of our animals live in home environments—not kennels—while they await adoption. This allows us to learn as much as possible about each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs so we can help make the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. Our adoption process may take a little time, and you might notice we ask a lot of questions. That’s because we want to ensure a lasting and happy match for everyone involved. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers—these questions simply help us guide you toward the pet who will fit best with your family, lifestyle, and expectations. Many of the animals who come into our care have faced hardship, uncertainty, or even the risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to give them a second chance—and to place them in loving, responsible, lifelong homes where they can finally feel safe and secure. If you see an animal you’re interested in, please submit an application through our website at www.rescuecrew.org/adoption-basics as soon as possible. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it will help ensure your place in line for that animal—or another pet who might be a perfect match. Thank you for choosing adoption and for helping us continue our lifesaving work. Together, we’re giving hope and homes to animals who need them most.
