Meet Skippy Girl
They call me Skippy Girl! I have been in a foster home my entire life and I am nearly 5 years old. I’m not working the pity vote here, but I really want someone to love me forever. My friends at the dog park always talk about how awesome their families are. I love my foster mom, but I really want my very own people.
The first thing to know is that I am an affectionate girl that needs an owner that likes to stay busy. I have long legs and I like to keep them moving. I’d be an excellent running partner or really your take along dog on all of your adventures. I like to lounge too, but after a bit of exercise and with a yummy chew toy.
I am a bigger girl, weighing in at nearly 65 pounds, but I have manners, so I am not 65 pounds of bull in a china cabinet. I am also 65 pounds of beautiful with my leg freckles, a short red, orange and white coat and my BEST features are my amber eyes and my permanent eyeliner. My tail is also an attention getter....wags constantly unless I am concentrating and then it will be curled up over my back.
Okay, so we covered my looks...let’s talk about my personality a little bit. I am very affectionate and I really love to spend time with all kinds of people and other pups. Getting hugs and kisses and a daily tummy rub will make my day! When I am at an adoption event, I do this really funny thing of leaning into the crate so you can pet my whole body without having to stick your hands through the holes. This is one of those smart tricks I have learned over the years of attending these events. I also know how to sit, shake paws and several other cool tricks. I’m bet I can learn any trick you throw my way.
I love to stay busy and have fun, so an active family would be great for me. I am a good jogger, hiker, dog park participant and walker because I am super social. I’m not too social with cats, so I need to be adopted by a family that does not have one. I do not live with children, but I see them at the adoption events and the park and they are great back scratchers so having them around would be just fine. I would do well in any family dynamic because I am really adaptable to all situations.
After all of this talk about myself, I am hopeful that you will decide to love me for the rest of my life. I have got many more years to share with someone special, so let’s meet. I am healthy, spayed, current on my vaccinations, house trained and do not forget...beautiful and smart.
