Skipper's Story

Meet Skipper: The Tiny, Untouchable Legend of South Texas 🐾

Skipper is a small, black-and-white, wiry-haired chihuahua mix with big eyes, a mysterious past, and a personal bubble roughly the size of Texas. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Skipper has decided that human hands are overrated. He’s not into pets, cuddles, or belly rubs—so if you’re looking for a lap dog, keep scrolling. If you’re looking for a hilarious, low-maintenance roommate who occasionally stares at you from across the room like you owe him money, he’s your guy.

To catch Skipper, you’ll need skill, patience, and a lead leash that never leaves his body. Skipper adores his daily walk—once you catch him—and loves to hang out with other small dogs. He thrives in the company of his kind (furry, not human) and would do best in a home with a patient pup buddy who can teach him that the world isn’t so scary. He’s very punctual about dinner and will kindly remind you when it’s mealtime with his best “feed me now” energy.

Skipper is looking for a special person—someone patient, kind, and experienced with quirky rescue dogs who take time (like… a year) to warm up. With the right person, Skipper will eventually reveal his sweet, funny, loyal heart. Until then, he’s a work in progress—and kind of a legend.

We try to give as much info about the dog as we can on the posting and our website. To get more specific questions answered you would need to be put in touch with the foster. To do that you need to complete an application that is found on our webpage. Please note, an application does not mean you are getting the dog. Often times we get multiple apps on the same dog. We go in order of the arrival of the app but we also look at apps carefully and make sure that the dog and applicant are a good match for each other.
