Skipper's Story
Skipper, 8 month old, ~56 lb intact male yellow lab is available for Adoption

Background:
kipper's family are having some hardships and are unable to keep him and asked GGLRR to help find him a home.

What his Rescue Rep Says:
Skipper is the classic Labrador puppy—happy, playful, and bursting with youthful energy. When you first meet him, he may take a moment to size things up, but once he warms up his enthusiasm shines through and he’s quickly seeking attention and affection. As the runt of his litter, Skipper was a bit underweight early on, so he may stay on the smaller side for a Lab, but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in personality.

Skipper loves an active lifestyle and is always ready to chase a ball, splash around in the water, or entertain himself with toys. He is comfortable with all-over handling, takes food without any guarding behaviors, and is generally an easygoing, social pup. While he’s still learning the ropes when it comes to obedience and leash skills, he already knows “sit,” responds well to his name, and is housetrained (though not crate trained yet).

Because Skipper is still young and bouncy, he would do best in a home with older children. An experienced owner who can provide structure, guidance, and plenty of outlets for his energy will help him thrive. A home with a backyard and people who won’t leave him alone for long stretches would be ideal.

Skipper currently lives with another young Lab and an older German Shepherd and gets along well with both. When meeting older dogs, he may be overly excited at first but takes correction well and greets politely. He would be happy with another dog in the home and has also done well around a relative’s cat.

Skipper is a joyful, active puppy with a sweet nature and tons of potential—ready to grow into a wonderful companion for the right family. 🐾

Skipper fetching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHtCq-ztseo&feature=youtu.be

Skipper with a toy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CZZR-3RXOw

Skipper leash walking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CKmV-kEkbo

Skipper meeting another dog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4K9uVpj-FE

Medical:
Skipper is a healthy pup, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped.

His neuter surgery will be taken care of by Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue at a later date.

Skipper is currently in: San Pablo

If you are interested in Skipper, please email Rescue Rep Kathy at ksmillich@gmail.com.
