Skeeter Bob's Story
Skeeter Bob 3-year-old male black Lab mix 75-lbs Neutered

Background.
Moose's owner recently passed... and his extended family is not in a position to keep Skeeter Bob long-term.

Leash walk with Skeeter Bob -- https://youtu.be/70Rg4D7lOaw

Skeeter Bob and Diesel on a walk -- https://youtu.be/ZQEU8H9u9kI

What Skeeter Bob's owner says.
Skeeter Bob is a lazy couch dog who likes to be close to his person. House-broken but not crate-trained. He sleeps on the floor in our bedroom. We can leave him home alone without issues, but we usually have someone around the house -- which Skeeter Bob loves.

Skeeter Bob has lived with another dog, cat and chickens. He plays in our yard with our own 3-year-old golden retriever dog; gets occasional walks. Likes to swim. Will chew non-dog items (paper towels, tissues, kids' toys) if allowed. He is fine around children but really does not like to be touched or handled by kids.

Does not get along with some dogs -- can be a little snarky. Skeeter Bob is going to thrive in the right home and make someone very happy. He is a good buy, just very particular and doesn't like to be bothered. Loves pets and belly rubs; loves antler chews... and chasing birds and squirrels. Loves to be in the same room as his people. He needs a low stress and chill environment to call his forever home. Skeeter will need time and lots of love to heal from the loss of his/our dad. My dad has an old school method of "training" dogs that likely involved physical punishment (i.e., hitting, kicking). Skeeter still loved him beyond belief but he now deserves a home and home and a family who can ensure he never has to deal with this again. Stable and calm would be ideal.

What Skeeter Bob's Rescue Rep says.
I found Skeeter Bob to be engaging and quite friendly. No interest in squeaky toys. Little interest in chasing a ball. No behavior issues observed. Was very interested to meet my own Lab "Diesel" but then was happy to just walk along with him -- no issues. I suspect he would be fine with other dogs if properly introduced. Not a dog-park dog though. Should be fine in a home with cats. Needs some work when walking on leash. Would be great to have people around a lot.

Medical.
Neutered, microchipped, taking heartworm preventive, and current on vaccinations.

Skeeter Bob is located in: Roseville.

If you want to adopt Skeeter Bob, contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net
