Sissy's Story

About Sissy
Status: Available
Breed: Border Collie
Gender: Spayed Female
DOB: 11/14/2023
LOCATION: Grottoes, VA
WEIGHT: 40lbs
COAT: Smooth Coat
COLOR: Tri Color
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active Companion/Working Dog

Meet Sissy!

Sissy is a very happy girl that just loves human attention! She loves kids and all adults she’s met here in her foster home. Sissy is being fostered on a farm and is very interested in the sheep; very focused on whatever she’s doing but a little too focused on the free range chickens! Her favorite toys are ones that have squeakers! And her favorite thing to eat – any food (she loves to catch popcorn!)! Yes, Sissy is still a little over weight; she came from a home where she didn’t get much exercise (it’s doubtful she ever missed a meal).

Sissy is mostly calm in the house and likes to hang out close to her human. She walks nice on a leash after she gets over that initial excitement of “we’re going for a walk!!” She is just so happy to do anything with you.

Sissy’s diet plan has been to eat less and to run beside an ATV. She’s up to 4 miles at a time and loves it! Sissy also goes for walks around the fields with her foster mom and the other dogs. She has an excellent recall, but seldom goes very far. She likes to follow her foster mom EVERYWHERE! Sissy is a smart girl, too. She tries very hard to figure out what you’re asking of her and she’s been an enjoyable and easy dog to foster.

Check out Sissy playing and running along the ATV here - https://youtu.be/jpI46lSTy_k

If you are the perfect forever home for Sissy, please fill out an application and contact her foster parents at sylviaspets@aol.com. BRBCR’s approval process includes phone interviews, reference checks, and a home visit prior to meeting a foster dog. Approved applicants must meet at the foster dog’s location. Every adoption begins with a 2-week trial period.

Sissy’s adoption fee is $350.

Thank you for considering a rescue dog!

Contact the foster parent of the dog that you are interested in to request an adoption application. 2. Fill out an adoption application on our website OR email a completed adoption application to brbcrdogs@gmail.com. 3. A BRBCR volunteer will conduct a phone interview with the applicant and the applicant's veterinarian and personal references. 4. A BRBCR volunteer will conduct a home visit with the applicant. Upon approval, the foster parent will set up a Meet and Greet for the applicant. If the Meet and Greet is successful, then the applicant will be able to take the BRBCR dog home for a 2-week trial period. If the trial period is successful, the adoption becomes official.
