Simon's Story

Are you ready to snuggle on the couch with a good movie? Me too! How about a hike, a run or a walk? I'm in! Want to teach me a new trick? I just want to be with you.
Meet Simon! He is as sweet as they come! He is a 1-2 year old lab mix (our best guess) that weighs about 60 pounds. He loves to be with his people, is eager to please and learns very quickly. He doesn’t pull on a leash, has not had any accidents in his foster home, and is doing very well learning not to jump on people.

He knows how to sit, lay down, shake, come and stay. He loves going on walks, runs and hikes, but he also knows to be calm indoors and has very good manners. He’s just as comfortable snuggling on the couch (which is lovely, because he has the softest fur!) as he is going on an adventure outside. He also loves to play with other dogs and would likely thrive with a dog brother or sister. Cats have not seemed to be a problem with him since he has shown little interest in the cats he has been introduced to.

He does not like being left alone and escaped his crate when left, but he was not destructive. Otherwise, he loves his crate. He sleeps in it all night and willingly goes in when he is told. I think with a little work he will be able to get over his anxiety of being left. Simon needs to learn how to play appropriately with people as he can get mouthy.

Overall, he is a friendly, happy boy who has a lot of love to give and wants to be part of a family. He cannot go to a home where he will spend most of his time outdoors and away from his people.
