Simon - a Cute Little Chipmunk Brother!'s Story

This adorable little nugget is little Simon, the last of our Chipmunks, as his brothers Alvin and Theodore have already been adopted.

Simon is ready for his very own family, too! He was born on 11/8/25 and is expected to be a small dog. He is a typical happy, silly, playful little pup!

Our REQUIREMENTS for very young puppies like Simon are the following:

1. You MUST have a private, fenced yard. Simon has not completed all of his puppy vaccines yet, and so he can NOT be on the ground outside anywhere other than a private, securely fenced yard until those vaccines are finished. If we still have him at that time, this requirement will be lifted.

2. No apartments (see # 1)

3. Someone MUST be home a majority of the time. Puppies need training, interaction, exercise, potty breaks, and a schedule that they can manage (they're not going to get potty trained if they have to "hold it" for hours and hours!). If you work full time outside of the home, we urge you to look for an adult dog to adopt, there are so many in need!

4. If you apply and are approved, you can adopt and take Simon home, but you must be willing to take him to his upcoming vaccination and neuter appointments in order for the Rescue to cover that care. We will check with you for your schedule when making appts, but you have to be able to do it within a reasonable time frame.

5. If you are not willing to take him to his appts and would rather wait til everything is done, you can do that, but please be aware that we do not hold dogs, so it's highly likely that someone else will apply and be willing, in which case he would go to the second family. If you already know that you are not able to take him to appts, please hold off on applying until this listing is updated and says he is neutered and vaccinated (about 4 months of age), or if you just know in general that you are not prepared to take him home at the time of a successful meet and greet, please wait until you are to apply.

6. Even though Simon is adorable, tiny, and looks like a little hamster corgi, he is still a dog who will need training just like any other! Please be willing to invest that into your new baby, to get him, and you, off to the best start and help him grow into the great dog he will!! (aka, he is not a toy)

Our PREFERENCE is:

1. That you have another dog, or even dog-friendly cat, in the home for Simon to play with, keep company, and learn from. This is not an absolute requirement for the right home, but just know that we may give preference to applicants who are current pet owners.

If you are ready to bring a new little bundle of joy into your life, please copy and paste the following link into your browser in order to apply to adopt!

https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/GARP/Dog

Please also follow us on Facebook to keep up with all our Pals, upcoming events, and announcements!

https://www.facebook.com/share/ahFTecYpLt3bLPkf/?mibextid=qi2Omg

Rescue Pals, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in one of our Pals! Our adoption fees for dogs are: Puppies up to 1 Year Old : $400 Adult Dogs 1 - 9 Years : $350 Senior Dogs 10 - 12 Years : $300 Super Senior Dogs 12 + Years : $150 Kittens up to 1 Year Old : $125 Adult Cats 1 - 12 Years : $95 Senior Cats 12 + Years : $75 If multiple cats/kittens are adopted to the same home at the same time, each kitty after the first (youngest) will have their fee reduced by $25. All dogs and cats are or will be: spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Here is our adoption process: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Applicants must be ready for a new pet to come home immediately after the entire adoption process is complete and approved. We are not able to hold animals if you have travel coming up, etc., so please be prepared to make arrangements for your new pet if that is the case. After submitting an application, your information will be reviewed and a vet check will be done for your current and past pets (going back 5 years). Your pets should be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Veterinary medical exceptions will be taken into consideration for any of those items. If you and the pet you are applying for seem like a great fit, a member of our adoption team will contact you for a telephone interview. After that, a home check will be done, and then a meet and greet (maybe at the same time!). If all is well and everyone agrees that this is the right new family member for you, the adoption can be finalized at that time! Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization, and in some cases when multiple applications come in for the same pet we may not be able to respond to each applicant. If a pet no longer appears on Petfinder, it means he or she has been adopted. Applying for a pet does not place that animal on hold, or guarantee approval. Our goal is to make the very best match that will last a lifetime for the pet, so we hope everyone can understand and appreciate that. If your application is approved through 1st review and vet check, but we don't feel that the pet you're interested in is the right fit, we may suggest another who we feel would be a better fit for your lifestyle/what you're looking for. Thank you so much again for your interest in adopting a Pal, and helping us save lives!
