Simon's Story

When opportunity opens doors, Simon is ready to stroll right in. Our boy Simon seized the opportunity and walked into a town hall building during a Board of Education meeting. What a lucky day for one year old Simon. That stroll over the threshold, secured a bright future for this 64 pound Terrier mix. Since Simon is a stray, there is an unknown past but from his eager and happy interactions with people, we see Simon as being a great future canine companion. We do know that he is a medium energy boy so medium active family will be a good match for him. He will thrive in a structured environment and firm leadership to guide him in his daily life. He is a happy go lucky boy that wants to be loved. He loves playing ball, loves car rides and playing with his canine foster sibling. With a friendly disposition and a sweetheart personality, Simon will be everything his forever family will want or needing in a canine companion. Simon will be a great running partner and a great all around companion. He has demonstrated a high curiosity with cats that we are almost certain a cat would not want to entertain the idea of companionship. Therefore, he will need a home without a feline resident. Simon has not been introduced to young children since coming into rescue. With lots of changes in his life, Simon will need his family to assist him with learning his crate and leash training. He loves treats and with that enthusiasm he should learn his skill set in a short amount of time. He is housetrained, but it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. He aims to impress, so human interaction is a treat for Simon. Toys are very much enjoyed by Simon as well so he will have lots of fun engaging with a good stash of toys at hand. With a youthful spirit and exuberant nature, Simon will be a joy in welcoming into your life. He will be a wonderful addition to the family and provide years of love and companionship. * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Simon is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours.
