Simon's Story
We can't figure out why someone would turn a very sweet 10ish year old dog into a scary kill shelter. We can't help thinking about how sad and difficult that must have been for this well-behaved little guy. The report we've received from Simon's rescuer is that he is initially shy (who wouldn't be after ending up at a scary shelter), is excellent with people and other dogs and has no known health or behavioral issues of any kind. This little dog will be a gift to a family that's searching for a mellow, well-behaved and very loving dog in their lives.

Simon has a cottony soft coat that is currently shelter - sad. He will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition including 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement for great health, a cottony-soft coat and a long, very healthy life.

Simon is such a devoted and smart little guy. Now that he know he's safe, he's a far more relaxed little dog. Simon is truly emerging since he's been with his rescuer. Initially this poor guy was so frightened but with patience and love, he's blossoming!

Simon enjoys his walks where he can socialize and sniff new scents (won't he be perfect for exploring with his people on a gorgeous day?) Simon also loves his couch time that includes periodic hugs, praise and treats that make our sweet guy feel so good about himself.

Simon is such a fun and silly guy that we hope his new family will choose to spend lots of time enjoying his antics. He loves to greet his rescuer by giving happy kisses with a helicopter tail. He's a love bug that will be initially shy, but with time and love, he emerges with his waggy tail and sweet smile.

Farfel's Rescue has made the decision that we'd like to see Simon in a home with loving and devoted retirees that spends lots of time at home...or enjoy taking their furry best friend along. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a good choice for this people-loving guy. Simon, at just 17 lbs is also a perfect take-along sized guy. It's so easy to just scoop him up and snuggle him under your arm. He enjoys the car and is very happy riding strapped into his car seat so he can watch the activity going on around him..

Simon is unknown with cats. He is however, compatible and enjoys gentle, respectful dogs. A day of hanging out in the sunshine together would speak to Simon's gentle nature. We wonder if Simon would be just as happy as an only dog with a family that will shower full-time love and pampering on him. He would return that love and kindness a million times over as he falls more and more in love with his family.

Simon will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition. A daily salmon oil supplement coupled with 5 star food is a great regimen to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and gorgeous.

Simon will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 2/18/2026. If interested in this cuddly, loyal and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Simon please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog, and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!
