We expect he will weigh about 65-70# as an adult. Simba was part of a litter born on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The litter of four with their mom (a very nice red heeler named Bathshiba) made the long trip to St. Paul to find their forever homes. Simba and his litter mates have always been well cared for and well socialized. The pups and mom have been adopted, but Simba was recently returned recently because although the family loved him, they felt they needed a different breed as new dog owners. Simba does like to herd (true to his breed) and being a puppy he is learning what he can and cannot herd. He is a sweet, loving little guy and very playful. He has experience living with other dogs, cats and children. He walks well on leash and loves going for walks. He is also doing very well with housebreaking and kennel training. Simba is off to a great start and the next few months are important for him. The first 6 months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. His adopter must be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations and give puppy many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. If good doggie social skills are not learned during these early months it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store and puppy socialization classes are ideal learning opportunities. Simba has been neutered, wormed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies. His adoption fee is $275.00
