Siggy's Story

Meet victorious beauty Sigrid better known as Siggy. This beaty of a shepherd is only about a year and four months old, but was delivered with two malnourished four month old puppies! Basically a baby with babies. She was found and captured living in a tree stump with the pups. Being unsocialized is the death sentence to these dogs as shelters are overflowing with ready to go pets and they have very few resources to spend time socializing. The dogs were actually tagged by another rescue so they were not euthanized. And then the rescue backed out. This is an immediate sentence for the small family. They never reach the kennels to be seen, nobody even knows they existed, and there is an open kennel for another possible needy soul. Something about the one picture of the small scared cold and starved group hit me and so: here we are.
Siggy turned out to be super sweet and trainable. She needs a very gentle and quiet hand always or she shuts down. She cringes if scolded as if she expects to be beaten, so she has had a home at one time. Calm and gentle she just shines. Sit, stay, leave it and her name are all well known and usually she will shine and show off. She sits and takes a treat nicely when the puppies aren't trying to grab it. Inside the house she will play if you want to, or peacefully find a bed or couch if the human says its ok. She is completely fine with having a toy shared and her food bowl taken , moved, or shared. She is a very sturdy large boned and compact correct young shepherd. Absolutely a beauty.
She would really appreciate and bloom being single again. She loves her puppies but she also loves when we just have outings without them. She is ready to find her forever home now. She had her whole series of vaccinations, is spayed and recovered nicely from that. She has been great with meeting new dogs and people. There has never been a mess in kennels or the house but we haven't done overnight yet. Thats next up. She would love to be the one special pup or even share a space with another gentle pup to play with. If you think this girl would fit who you would love for a lifetime, come meet her and fall in love.
