Sierra's Story
Sierra is a sweet girl with a gorgeous brindle coat and adorable spotted paws! She was born in 10/2022 and currently weighs 37#. Sierra was adopted from us as a puppy but has been recently returned due to her family not being able to provide the life she deserves.

Here are some notes from her fostermom:

Sierra loves to go for walks and play fetch. She has been great with our small dogs but probably should not live with cats. She wants to chase them when she sees them on walks. Sierra enjoys cuddling on the couch with my husband and children. She sleeps peacefully in the crate through the night, but does whine and bark for a few minutes before settling if she is crated during the day.

Sierra appears to be potty trained. She hasn't asked to be let out, but we let our dogs out regularly to go potty and haven't had any issues. Sierra isn't super food motivated, but she will sometimes take higher value treats while working on her sit and down.

Sierra has a calm personality unless she is playing or scared. She is very gentle with our 8 lb terrier mix and our 12 lb papillon mix and although hasn't recently been exposed to bigger dogs, we feel she would do fine. Sierra needs a fully fenced backyard where she can safely run and play.

Sierra has shown some fear of strangers coming into our home, but we are working on that. She barks and tries to run away, but with patience and treats, she learns that strangers can be okay.

While out on walks, Sierra passes dogs easily unless they are lunging, growling, and barking at her. We are working on being able to ignore those dogs.

Recently, we took Sierra to Petco and TJ Maxx. She did great! She walked nicely through the store and waited patiently in line with us.

Sierra is a great dog who deserves a loving home with owners as devoted to her as she is to them.

Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
