Meet Sienna

*IF YOU CAN SEE THIS POST, I AM STILL AVAILABLE AND LOOKING FOR MY FOREVER FAMILY*

Hi there, I’m Sienna!

I once had a family, but was picked up as a stray and brought to a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield, Ca. I made the euthanasia list after a month to make room for 500 more animals. Since I was a shelter favorite, staff members found a foster in Vancouver, WA.

My fosters family take me on all their adventures—it’s a blast! If you need a perfect office buddy, I’m your gal. I’d even do great at doggy daycare while you go to work! I would prefer to have a person or people that will bring me along or around more often, especially as I settle in. My biggest fear is being left behind by family again, but I just need patience, reassurance and time.

I love exercising too. Who knows, I could be the excuse you’ve been looking for to start training for that 5K or get you out for a hike. You’ll never regret exercising with me, I promise!

Despite my history, I hold no grudges and love everyone of all ages.

My foster parents think I would do great with an active sibling. And I agree! I’d love a fellow brother or sister who doesn’t pick on me and try to steal my food while we eat. I’m a good solo dog too!

I LOVE:
Outdoors, hiking
Daily walks
Dog friends
Squeaky toys
Snow
Tagging along on outings, markets, breweries, etc.
Zoomies
Kongs, puzzles, lick mats
Car rides
Napping
Meeting new people
Treats
Leaning my body or head on people

Not to brag, but I’ve learned 4 new skills at my foster home. I’m super smart and love training, which gives us lots of opportunity to build a deep bond! It’d be great to continue my training with you or a trainer. I’m a young gal, so I walk fast and not always perfect at loose leash walking when I get super excited. I try so hard though and get better every walk.

MY SKILLS:
House trained
Sit
Lie down
Stay
Watch me
Leash walking
Leave it: I do need reminders. What can I say? I’m a dog!
Kennel trained: for naps + sleeping
Recall: once we build a trust
Clearing out a room after I fart

SKILLS I’M WORKING ON:
Off: I’m getting better with time about not jumping on people and I know the word “off.” I’m a very light weight jumper!

Hand-targeting: I’ve nailed it inside the house, next step is on our walks for “heel.”
Ring a bell to go potty.
Mouth play: I like to put hands in my mouth when I’m super excited, but I never bite down and stop when you say no. My foster parents think this won’t be an issue as I get older. I’m still young!

Learning the word “kennel”: I don’t have the most positive associations with it, but I’m using it more on my own as time goes on. I don’t chew on things, but my fosters still want to teach me the word “kennel.”

Paw handling: I’m sensitive, but I’m learning it’s not scary to dry off my paws through positive reinforcement.

Im fostered in Vancouver, Wa and would love to meet you today, please apply!

My Adoption fee is $350
