Shylah's Story

Hi, I’m Shyla, a 2-year-old Australian cattle dog/lab mix! I was rescued from a hoarding case in Ensenada, Mexico. I was terrified and hiding in the corner in a room full of dogs. After I was rescued, it took me about a week to warm up, but now I’m coming out of my shell and am looking for my furever pack!

Here are a few things that make me pawsome:

Training rockstar: I’m a good listener and am very trainable! I respond well to verbal correction and am fully potty trained, crate trained, and walk well on my leash.

Everyone’s pal: I love all dogs and get along with feline friends too. Though I’m shy, I do warm up to people with some time, pets, and cookies!

Fetch extraordinaire: I’m a chill, easy going girl, but I do love a good game of fetch!

More about me:
True to my name, I’m a little shy! Unfamiliar people are a little scary at first. But I’ve come a long way in the last month thanks to my foster family! I know with a loving and patient furever family, I’ll come out of my shell even more and blossom into the best com-paw-nion. I love being an affectionate homebody. I’m also spayed and vaccinated.

What’s my dream home?
I will thrive in a home where my family gives me time and patience as I continue to come out of my shell. For now, a calm home without too many people coming and going would be best. Even though I’m a cattle dog, I’d do well with a moderately active to active household. I get along with just about everyone and would do well with a dog sibling, being the only pup, or with cats.

My adoption fee is $350. This fee covers my first year of vaccinations, neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at thecantufoundation.org
